I am going to install an outlet in our kitchen island. My wife wants it on top of the island. Can this be done? Do I use a GFI outlet/

Thanks!

As the wife of a builder & daily user of an island, I would HIGHLY recommend AGAINST putting an outlet on top of the island. Even with a GFI outlet, if something spills & gets in there, it can cause a TON of problems. We have an outlet on either side of the island & I use them frequently. Good luck!

Sorry for the multiple replies - the screen froze up & wouldn't tell me if the message had been sent! Gotta love technology!
