We just moved into a house we love, but it needs LOTS of work! My first job is to tackle the kitchen. I have dark wood floors, and dark wood cupboards. Remodeling completely is out of the question right now. Can someone offer an alternative idea to brighten up the room? There is only one window, so it doesnt get a lot of light.

On the same note- how difficult would it be to add recessed lighting?
