Basically I plan to sand my deck next week. I would rather not use a pressure washer as I hear that can make it worse if youre not an experienced user. It looks like the deck hasnt been protected in a long time (I moved in last summer) and I want to get it looking smooth and nice. My plan is to use a sander with 80 grit, followed by 120 to really smooth it out. I also want to stain it a nice cedar colour, and im curious if there is anything outthere that has a cedar stain and weather protector all in one, just to save some time and $$$. Can someone please tell me if this whole plan I have sounds like a good idea. Im a new homeowner and somewhat inexperienced. Just curious also if the sanding is going to give it a nice clean look, or am I asking for too much. any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated!
