I have recently finished a large deck using the new Trex Brasilia Decking product. Does anyone have experience with this product? White spots are beginning to show up. I thought the boards to be solid, however, the spots look like the top layer is peeling off. As anyone else experienced this issue?

Trex is 50% wood and 50% recycled plastics.
How big are the spots? Have you contacted Trex about this problem?

Jesse: I too have a Trex Madeira deck that has been installed for 2 months. It is "peeling". The layer underneath looks like white freckles and then eventually will peel or you can stratch at it to uncover a mixture of white fiberous material or white plastic. I even found a piece of silver metal protruding!!!
Actually Madiera Trex is through colored, I toured the factory and watch it come through the injection molding heads.
What Melissa is seeing is the natural aging of Trex. The deck builder should have shown you the samples we get that have the new trex color on one side and the aged color on the other.
After a few weeks you will see a little more of the recylcled plastic in with the madiera color as it is so dark as it lightens slightly under the sun.
I haven't used the Brasilia yet, but I will notify Trex of this thread and ask someone to comment.
