I'm looking to pour footings for a new deck. I have heard of, seen and researched about a dry pour using "Quikrete". However, all that I've seen refers to using this method for fence post, mailbox post and other smaller applications.
Can or should this method be used for deck footings?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

No, mix it thoroughly.
Read the instructions on the bag, pre-mix requires you to "mix" it. You need to get the aggregates suspended into the mixer for the load strength.
