I recently purchased tongue/ groove fir flooring for a new back porch. I could not use pressure treated wood because of the possibility of contaminating my well water. I stained my wood with Cabot Clear solution which is suppose to be a top brand for protecting wood. However, the outer boards are already heavily speckled with black mold or mildew patches and dots. Is this a product failure? What should I do? The porch was only completed 6 weeks ago! Please help!
