We have quotes from two companies for a new patio. One is for dry-set brick pavers and the other is for a concrete slab base topped with bluestone embedded in mortar. We live in Richmond va, so we do have several good freezes a year. Any advantage to one method or the other? Thanks!

You probably won't notice any settling with pavers what would cause your slab to crack. And Pavers are replaceable. Of course you may have to weed between them if you don't use Roundup

So the slab would be more likely to crack eventually? The contractor did say they would reinforce with rebar...thanks!
