THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH PEOPLE.... we spent the day looking at the Trex decking and came home to do the measurements, proudly thinking we were about to buy the best... but after the final 'due diligence' check, I stumbled across this site and we have changed our minds! Trex sounds like a nightmare, I'm sorry you all went thru it, but you saved us and should be proud you posted. Thank you sooo much for speaking up, we have decided to go with good old reliable cedar. I am eternally grateful to you for saving us big bucks and many problems! :):):)

You are most welcome! I'm hoping for the best with the lawsuit in CA about the mold issue.

Thank you! thank you all posting. I am the same as Rev T. For the past year, I was fixate with Trek deck thinking it was a top of the line. Their website is so convincing.

I also stumble on to this forum by accident, now a proud member. From reading this site, there is no composite materials that are no maintenance and all have the similar issues with molding, warping, and buckling.

Thank you again. I am thinking wood now. :)
