I recently installed a new garbage disposer which is working fine. However, now my dishwasher, which has a drain into the garbage disposer, is not draining properly. The water is draining slowly or not at all and pools in the bottom of the dishwasher. I checked the air valve and it appears clear of obstructions as do the hoses leading from the dishwasher to the air valve and the air valve to the disposer. What am I missing here? Did I forget something hooking up the disposer or is this coincidence and I have other problems with the dishwasher?

This is not to insinuate anything- On the garbage disposal drain outlet, there is an interior drain plug that must be removed (you would not believe the amount of people who do not remove it). If you had removed it, there are only a few causes for this problem:
1. Pump motor inop
2. No voltage to the pump motor
3. Impeller is jammed, sheared or loose
4. Strainer is clogged
5. One of your hoses is plugged or kinked
6. Improper air gap on the drain hose

I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!
