I'm currently reconnecting new piping to the shower/bathtup faucet. The two hot and cold lines are not taking the sauder at the connections no matter how hot I get it. Every other connection has been made without a problem. Is there a reason that this connection is not taking? I have fluxed the joint and sanded but it will not take. Two nights in a row makes for frustrating sleep and not much work done at the office.

I completely took the valve apart. I wasn't getting enough heat to flux the copper. Once apart I was able to really get heat in without fearing damage to the valve. You are the first to respond and I feld stupid after I spent more time checking it out. Bottom line is persistence. It does work, I just needed more heat in the correct place.
