I would like to raise the height of my toilets by placing them on a 6 inch platform. What is the best way to connect ot the existing waste pipes?

Here's a thought you might want to consider. Hospitals use an "extension" that sits on top of the existing commode. That could be a lot easier than putting stuff under it.

The elevated seats are, in a word, ugly. There is also a fall danger if someone removes it, does not replace it and an elderly, frail person doesn't realize it. This happened to my mother, twice. The result was a torn rotor cuff of her dominant arm.
I too am interested in building a platform under the toilet and extend the drain flange. The platform would then be tiled as well as the floor.

The chapest handicapped toilet is over $300 and go to over $1000. That isn't in my budget. There is no reason that a person who has knee problems should be zapped to get a higher toilet. There is no way that there should be that much difference in the price of a toilet, they are the same just a little taller. No way I want that ugly and messy extension to add to the top of the stool. When my Mom lived with me she used that and it way yukki. Give us a real answer on how to do the platform instead of taking the expensive, easy way out.

"The chapest handicapped toilet is over $300 and go to over $1000." I'm quoting that's why cheapest is spelled wrong. Anyway google ADA toilet and you will see you can come in under $200. LOL

Want to tile bathroom floor. Tile is 5/16" thick. Wood floor 1/2"thick had been added without raising toilet bowl in the past. Now that toilet bowl has to come up 3/4" to do job right! thanks for your help, Joe Mc Govern
