Bvplumbing
I have a 30 y/o house which draws its water source from a well. The water pressure at the house is very low at best. The cold water which goes into the washing machine is just about at a trickle. Does anyone have a suggestion for descaling the pipes? I have heard that these magnets you can attach to the outside of the pipes can help, but have not found any studies that can confirm this outside of manufacturers claims. I DO NOT want to replace the entire plumbing system. I live in south central Texas where well water is very hard.

I have a similar situation. Every few months I have to remove the cold water hose from the washing machine and clean out the screen filter and clean the connectors on both ends, including the male connector on the washer itself. It's magic. Pressure again.
Have you replaced the house water filter (if there is one) lately? It could be clogged. Do you have a pressure tank? It may be operating poorly. Some are adjustable.

Has anyone ever suggested having the water tested for the Ph level so you know what treatment program to set up ?

What type of piping are you using ferrous or non ferrous metals or plastic

Did you ever consider a filter that is meant to remove just sediment?

It is always a great help knowing what type of minerals your having a problem with

What are they? Copper, steel?
Steel pipes close up on the inside from rust building up and at some point will all leak. And need to be replaced.
There is no way to descale the inside of water pipes.
