I just dug up part of the foundation on my house (poured concrete) due to a small leak I get during heavy rains. I noticed a leak in the main waste pipe at the attachment joint to the connector on the outside of the foundation. I'd like to avoid a costly repair yet want to be sure the pipe doesn't continue to leak. Would wrapping the pipe and tarring it be a viable alternative?

Hi Schwurto,

What's the pipe made of? And before you post back, please be SURE of what it is.

I don't think your plan is a good one. The tar and wrap may get 'punctured' and you'll be back to square one.

Check w/a Plumbing Supply House (found in the YELLOW PAGES under PLUMBING - SUPPLIES) for more guidance.

My best to ya and hope this helps.
