Bursted Water fitting,
The PVC fitting that hooks to the bottom of my washers cold water outlet has bursted twice. The fitting was split into could high water pressure be causing this? I had the water company check the pressure and it was 65 PSI.

HI mantis115,

Sure, the pressure could be the problem. You need to find out the pressure rating of the piping AND the washers (if any). Or, you could have a bad fitting.

Check the threads on the ENTIRE 'round' of the fitting. You may need to lean the unit on its side and take a flashlight to it. Consider checking w/the MFGR. for into. Also, check w/the water company to see if your PSI is 'correct'. If not, they should come out and 'step it down' for you.

My best to ya and hope this helps.

PS: If they want to step it down, be sure there isn't anything in the house that needs a higher pressure than what they want to step it down to. You might need the pressure if you have faucets/sill cocks/etc. at 'extrordinary' heights and/or distances.

My best to ya and hope this helps.
