Replacing kitchen faucet. The shut off valve does not work. If I shut off the water going into the hot water tank will that allow me to switch faucets? (apt. dwelling)
And since it has been awhile since I have replaced one, do I use putty if it comes with a plastic gasket to go between the faucet and sink?

Hi jjjonesee,
You should be able to shut the hot water off at the tank since your sink shut-off doesn't work.Always check both hot and cold sides before you start taking the faucet apart.
Kitchen faucets are easier than ever to replace and you shouldn't need any plumbers putty, but ask before you buy.Good Luck!
