Bvplumbing
I have a slight problem with my shower. In the morning I've noticed that I need to have the shower all the way to hot just to get a luke warm shower. During other parts of the day, that setting would scald me! Why would there be such a variance in temperature? I am very new to plumbing, so be easy on the newby(aka me). Thanks!

Do you have a timer controlling your water heater? That could explain it.

There could be... I just bought the house in May. This has been happening for some time, but I'm not sure if it's been happening the entire time I've been at this house. Do people actually put timers on their water heater? Where would it be located if there was? Thanks.

Yes, in fact I have one in my house. It will probably be in one of 2 places - near the water heater, or near the breaker/fuse box.
In my case, the reason for the timer is that I get my electricity cheaper at night and weekends, so I let it run only then. With no kids in the house we get enough for all day.

Sounds reasonable. I'll check it out.

Could not find a timer in either spot. I have noticed that the shower will be luke warm like I explained, but the sink right next to it will get nice and hot like usual. Any other ideas?

Some showers have safety mixing valves designed to prevent burns from too-hot water. You probably have one of those and it's not working properly.

OK. Where would this be located and how hard would it be to get replaced? How much do they cost(ballpark)? Is there someway to bypass it? Thanks.
