I need some help here. I've successfully removed the old shower arm and I'm trying to put the new one on. It's the same size and threads as the old one, just without the swivel head. No matter what I do, the threads don't want to catch. Any tip/tricks out there? Thanks!

My guess is that either of the threads are damaged. If the old head can be put back on,then the threads on the new one are no good.

It's possible the fitting sprang loose, and is not matching up, as you try to screw on the new one. Try cutting a little more drywall around the opening. The eschutcheon will hide the hole.
