Bvplumbing
Our toilet has been installed for at least 15 years. It has just now become wobbly. The bolts don't budge so I assume they are tight. The plumber's putty sealant around the front of the toilet is now missing. Could I fill the gap and seal this with caulk? How do you know if the flange is damaged? I don't want to have to reinstall the toilet or pay a plumber to do it if this is not the problem.

I just repaired my toilet. I thought it was going to be a lot tougher. I don't understand why the bolts are tight still after 15 years. Maybe they are just rusty underneath. Can you see below the toilet in the basement or crawl space? Are you getting any leaking? I would tackle the job. If you need tips on how to go about doing it let me know and I will post again.
