GROHE Kitchen Faucet? $$$ouch!

Hey out there!

For whatever reason, my wife seems to want a $400 faucet for our new kitchen (if I'd ever finish the kitchen, that is!).

Have any of you had any experience with a GROHE faucet? Your thoughts, please, before she hauls off and buys it. I must say it looks kind of cool, but OUCH!

I complained too, but got over it. The faucets are expensive, but just about the best built with solid brass bodies. Never a problem. Ours had a really high rise so you could fill buckets and clean tall pots etc. If you use one, all others seem cheap and don't operate as smoothly.

Thanks Tom for the response. You make a good argument for (gasp!) spending the bucks!
