pURCHASED A BRAND NEW HOME IN 2000, SPEC HOME.

IN SEPT. THIRD WATER LINE BROKE, CPVC FLOWGUARD GOLD PLASTIC LINES.

DAMAGES THIS TIME ARE OVER $ 25,000 DOLLARS

HOW CAN I GET BUILDER, PLUMBER TO REPLACE THIS CRAP??? WITH COPPER LINES.

MY FAMILY'S INS. CO. REFUSES TO REPLACE IT ALSO, NOTIFIED THAT IF WE DON'T AT RENEWEL THEY WILL CANCEL US.

HELP...

A plumber is the best tradesman for this job. Sorry to hear you had problems with the cpvc. Many variables could have contributed to the plastic breaking. The joints could have been glued improperly,etc;etc. You didn't mention in your post how the lines got broken or ruptured.

Like most legal situations, the best thing to do is pay for the replacement yourself. Then send a copy of the bill to the homebuilder asking that he pay it. Document everything and see him in court after you have politely tried to get him to pay it three or four times over the course of 6 months.

Use copper, however I would study using PEX since it might be easier to fish through finished walls and corners without sweating joints.
