Hi! I hope someone can help.. Lately, when I take a shower, I am getting no water pressure in the shower.. Plenty of pressure in the tub, as my tub fills up while I am trying to shower! Also, the shower starts off too hot even though I turn the cold all the way up.. BUT...Before I can get the shampoo off my head, it is ice cold!!! I haven't been able to condition my hair or shave my legs in a couple of weeks!! My husband bought me a new shower head last week, (Delta, the kind that you can detach and hold or just keep on the shower stem) and that didn't help....The water pressure is fine in the rest of the house, and the hot water is also fine in the rest of the house...
Sounds like a diverter problem. If you have 3 handled faucets, the one in the middle is called a diverter. Remove this stem and check the washer. Tub spouts sometimes can be the culprits as well. You can buy a replacement tub spout if your faucets are single lever. They are inexpensive and some ease installation with 0 rings and an allen screw.

Yes that's the diverter, and the washer may be different then the other two(hot and cold) The best thing to do is go to a plumbing supply with the whole stem and brand name if you know it. They will gladly assist you. Hoping you have a warm full shower soon ! Tom

My experience is that it's well worth visiting a plumbing supply store for parts like these. I've found that even though the parts look "about" the same, there can be countless possibilities--only one of which works. The "big box" home improvement stores will have a few--but probably not the one you're looking for.
Saves trips, time, and anxiety!

I agree with you K2. They "specialize" in parts and materials. Many times I have gone to Home Depot to buy a 1-1/2" "S" trap and they were out of them.
Tom, next time go to ******* , HD sux at everything they do, prices, service, no-one in the store working, they hide like cockroaches, special orders get lost.

I agree with u I've had it with them too. I bought a set of delta faucets (white, hi-spout, soap dispenser and spray hose) paid over 200.00. Got home opened it up-5 parts missing. Called Delta and they shipped me out the parts. The problem is the plastic bands around the faucet boxes so nobody opens them up and robs the parts. Delta claims they don't band wrap. Home depot claims they don't either. Well someone did it. They really went downhill in customer service. I usually get the same response from the clerks there, " Oh this is not my dept." You spend more time looking for a simple fitting. They rarely stock any copper pressure fittings over 1". Disgusted with em!
