Bvplumbing
I have well water that is somewhat acidic. hence we have an acid neutralizing filter which consists of a big tank of calcite through which the water runs before entering the house plumbing. It is cumbersome to open the filter and add calcite every few weeks. someone suggested a chemical acid neutralizing system, where you have a small tank of liquid neutralizing chemical, and this chemical is automatically added to the acidic water as it flows by. This way, the water pH level is maintained at a constant level, and refilling chemical is very easy - not requiring opening up the whole system. But I also heard negative comments about spraying a liquid chemical into the water. I will be grateful for any informating comparing the relative merits of the chemical versus calcite method of neutralizing acidic water. thank you much....
