I am about to tackle a bathroom renovation. I am installing a new one piece fiberglass shower unit. It is one of the double seated ones and is 48" wide. My question is, this bathroom is only a half bath, never had a shower or tub. Will there be any frame work required to support the shower, or will attaching it to the wall be all that is required?

I hate to state the obvious, but the framing requirements are included in the directions and product literature of every pre-fab shower enclosure. Unless it is fully self-supporting, you must frame according to those specification.
