I'm sure all of you who knew Tom Rowland (plumber tom) will share in our deepest sympathies to his family and friends, as well as our loss of a respected expert on this forum. Tom passed away suddenly on August 2, 2004 of a heart attack.

Tom and I had communicated frequently about common interests and this board. Tom was a great family man and enjoyed his fishing and was thrilled to moderate this board. Tom greatly enjoyed working with those who came here for help, and encouraged all of us in finding the solution to problems. Tom invested great personal interest and empathy to anyone who could benefit from his expert advise. We will all miss him terribly.

I was not certain whether this is an appropriate place to share this information and in some way to memorialize Tom. He posted messages to help others on this board on the last day of his life; so it seems fitting that we should remember him here, and carry on his task to help others.

God speed Plumber Tom and one more heart-felt thank you for all you have done.

It takes alot of caring for someone to take the time to help others with very little thanks. Tom was one of those people who took the time, because we all know he cared.

Thank you Tom on behalf of all you helped.

We WILL miss you very much.

This is a sad morning for me. I just left a thread for someone and was hoping for Plumber Tom's approval on it. I've gotten to know him this way, from some of the sump pump threads I've answered. I do hope that other members/readers get this news. My heart and prayers go out the family &friends of Plumber Tom. I will miss you greatly. Good Bye Plumber Tom. Cellarwater.

Tom responded so quickly and kindly. I just came back on the boards to ask a question about flooring and read that the plumbing forum was being dedicated to him. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

And, to all of you who care enough to take the time to help us knuckleheads, just know that your help is greatly appreciated. I hope my son will grow up to be so helpful.
