I think I need a translation but thanks...I have 3/8" cut offs but what to put between that and the hose adaptor I can't figure. I even spent a while going through galvanized fittings but....

What about installng a stop backwards? fasten the 3/8" compression end onto a piece of 3/8" tubing that goes from your present shut off to the add on. Make the add on valve have 1/2" female iron pipe size threads. Then adapt from 3/4" hose threads to 1/2" Iron pipe size threads.

It would be easier to get wet. As you know.

Well, I was trained by an anal retentive plumber who insisted on using stops screwed over 1/2" x 3/8" copper males. So reversing things is out of the question...Pass the bucket!

No problem. You still have 3/8" compression outlets don't you? Adding the additional stop for a hose adapter is only meant for temporarily blowing out the debris.
