I have gravity flow coming into my basement whitch goes to a 1/2 horse shallow well pump whitch goes to a small tank with a bladder. shortly after installing the NEW pump the pipes in this area began to throb and make loud banging noises when the water was run for extended periods or when the water was turned off. Now if you flush the toilet you can hear the banging pipes all over upstairs. I don't have a clue to what is causing this or how to fix it.

Your banging is coming from air in the lines, which is called water hammer. First try to open all faucets and outlets and force all air out. If that doesn't work, install water hammer shock arrestors in line close to the problem.
