Bvplumbing
Due to mineral buildup on the chrome drain in my bathtub, the plug will not seal and hold water. Therefore I'd like to replace the drain. However, because of the buildup, it will not turn at all, and I'm afraid to turn too hard and break it. Is there any product that would loosen it up?

They do make a drain removal tool which removes drains with or without cross bars. Pasco specialty or brasscraft both have this tool. Brasscraft tools are available at both plumbing wholesalers and the home centers. If you are in an area that you can't find this tool, than email me at kbonham@tsomerville.com
