I have a Kohler faucet in my kitchen sink. It is about 5 years old, has single handle and a pull-out spray head. When the water is on and the handle is in certain positions, water leaks out of a small hole (labeled "CL") in the back of the hub (the part that turns, that the spray head goes into). I replaced the flexible hose to the spray head and confirmed that it is not leaking.

Please respond with any ideas as to what the "CL" hole is, why water would be leaking out of it, and what I could do to fix the leak.

The problem could be with the vacuum breaker kit in the faucet. Because the spray pulls out and could be left down in contaminated water, the faucet has a built in V/B. Best bet here is to go on Kohlers web site to locate the faucet that you have by model number. After you are armed with the model number, call 1-800-4KOHLER and get to residential service. They will send out any parts that you need at no charge because of the age of the faucet. If you didn't replace your hose with a genuine hose, try to get one and keep the parts genuine. Kohler is a great line and stands up to it's products. You can also pull a complete parts breakdown of you faucet on line.

Best wishes. If you need additional information or help I can be reached at kbonham@tsomerville.com. Our company sells just about everything under the sun and just so happens to be the major distributor of Kohler products on the east coast.

As suggested, I called Kohler's 800 number. They diagnosed to faucet problem over the phone and are sending me the new vacuum breaker for free. Thanks for the good advice!
