I have. I'm not real fond of them, but when installing plumbing there's always a situation where you need a specialty product. I prefer to use brass ones myself. I've had too many plastic drains break because of the flexing of the shower pan everytime someone steps into it. Most people do not pour morter under the shower pan before they set it to stiffen the pan. Since the pan is only fiberglass, it tends to flex when you get in. The problem is, most of the time the drain pipe is fixed ridged and its straight up. This makes it inflexible. So the flange of the shower drain flexes and eventually breaks.
