Good Morning,

I have a 2 story home (6 yrs old) and did not get any hot water on the 2nd floor this morning. My water heater was blasting away in the garage and the 1st floor has hot water, but the 2nd floor water only warmed to a cool temperature, not hot, this morning. Could this be due to a clogged hot water line to my 2nd floor or some other problem I'm not aware of?

Thank you!

It is either a clogged pipe, or you have a pressure balancing or temperature balancing faucet that has gone bad. Temperature control faucets that go bad, will often give you cold water, but not hot water. The good thing is, that you can replace the cartridge and get your pressure back.

If its a clogged pipe, then you will have to replace that line. It will depend on what type of piping you have. If its copper or plastic, its probably not a clogged pipe. If its galvanized, it may be.

good luck

Thanks for the info Ray! I'll look into both areas.
