i've tried & tried cannot get locknut to budge! i've used liquid wrench & now i'm trying to get to it from the top of sink & that's going nowwhere!!!HELP we've been without water all week!

I wasn't quite sure which nut you were talking about, but I assume your talking about the ones that hold the faucet to the sink. These can be removed by using a hammer and a chisel, or by using a special nut breaking wrench that is sold at plumbing suppliers and big warehouse hardware stores. But since the nuts are simple pot metal, I have used a small saw to cut one side, then a screwdriver inside the cut to break the nut.
