I have a Delta one handle shower that has a drip. I have purchased the springs and rubber bushings recommended by **********. I can not however figure out how to get the stem out to replace the bushings and springs. Any ideas???
Thanks

Delta ball type faucets have a single cap that holds the stem in place. If you turn the cap counter clockwise, it should come off. Once you get the cap off, there is a plastic cover with a rubber gasket under it that has to be removed. This can be done by simply pulling on the stem and the gasket and cap will come out with the ball. There is a slot on the side of the ball that has a pin in it to position the ball.
Now, if you have a pressure balance faucet single lever delta, its a different story and the gaskets and springs have no purpose, because the faucet is a cartridge type.
Good Luck
