I have two outdoor faucets for watering my front and back lawn. Both faucets leak when they are turned on. Water sprays out of the handle after the water is turned on.

Do I have to have the faucet heads replaced, or is there something I can do to stop them from leaking?

The valve stem comes out through the "bonnet nut" to the handle.

Under the bonnet nut is a seal or washer.

First try tightening the bonnect nut. Do it in small steps and make sure that you can still operation the faucet.

If that does not solve the problem then remove the handle and unscrew the bonnet all the way and slide it off. Turn the water off before you do this.

That will expose the seal and a good ahrdware store will have replacements Take the old one with you as there are many different ones.
