Here goes,

I live on bottom floor of three story apartment complex--30 years old.

All AC drains above my location apparently tied in together---when my AC runs the noise from the drain pipes can be heard from outside my apartment....situation is worse in the p.m. hours. The AC air handler unit is brand new--replaced to

adress this problem with no success.

I have been told that these pipes may be vented incorrectly or not at all...I would really aooreciate any ideas to reduce or eliminate this noise!!! Many thankS:)

If the building is already built, it will depend on how much you want to spend. All noises can be reduced, but some are cost intensive. If the pipes are exposed, then insulation can help to reduce the noise. If the pipes are buried in ceilings or floors, then the problem becomes more difficult. Holes have to be drilled and foam or blown insulation has to be pumped in.

Good Luck
