I need help!!

When the upstairs toilet is flushed or the sink is run in the kitchen the water runs from under the downstairs toilet.

This started today and of course I have a house full of people.

You have two problems. The first and formost is the drain branch is clogged and the water is not going down the line fast enough. You need a drain cleaner to root out the clog.

The second problem, is the bowl wax under the toilet is not sealed to the flange or toilet. You shouldn't be able to get water coming from under a toilet if the gasket is sealed right. Most gaskets are designed to be able to withstand a few pounds pressure without leaking.

You will probably have to have the toilet pulled up and the wax ring redone.

The good news is that the drain cleaner may pull the toilet to clear the line.

Good Luck
