Bvplumbing
I had a plumber over to the house to check something out and while he was there he told me that the washer was not vented. We did not go into detail about it. How do you vent a washer drain pipe. Does that mean install one of those pcv squiggle pipes (trap) so the gases do not come back up the pipe or how do you vent a washer?

dino,

no offence intended, but you sound like you have not yet reached the novice stage re DIY plumbing. You can do more harm than good if you make a mistake, so I advise that you hire a pro to investigate the problem.

I do not profess to be a plumber but I just wanted to know what he meant by "Your washer is not vented" Can someone explain that too me? The water goes down the pipe to the I assume septic line. Where does it get vented.
