I have a fiberglass shower that sinks about 1/2" when you stand in it. It was hitting a support under it and pushing the drain up and causing a leak. I have fixed all of that and just dont like the amount the shower moves when I step in it. So I would like to firm up around the drain so it will not move anymore.

Can I just firm up with 2/4's or some type of foam?

In fact many manufacturers recommend a mortar base for the showers. We often set them on liquid base of mortar when we're installing them. This keeps them from flexing when people stand in them. You can also buy some hard foam products that will do the same thing, though you have to make sure they don't shrink.

Good Luck
