I am going to install trench type floor drains in my pole barn before my concrete guy starts. How much pitch of the floor should I allow for the drain? My shed is 48 wide and 54' long. I planned on putting a trench drain in the middle all the way through about 4' in from each end. Any thoughts?

It really depends on the use. If you absolutely need pitch towards the trench drain to remove constant flowing water, then you need to go wide. I often run a 5' swale on each side of the trench drain. But if you only need it for inconsistant flow you can squeegy off the floor, then a 1 to 2' cut around the outside of the trench should do the trick.
