Could someone tell me the best way to tackle
this? My boyfriend's parents are letting me
redo some of the rooms in the grandmother's house. A lot of it is paneling - I would like
to take some of it down to see what is behind it so that I can redo what will be the children's rooms............how do I get this paneling off without it being a major ugly thing? I'm not sure what is behind the paneling and that's what I need to find out??

I assume that this is 4' X 8' panelling. If it is, it is probably held up with nails. I wuld take a nail set and drive teh nails right through the panelling. This should allow the panels to be removed with minimal damage. If it is held around the edges with moulding, I would remove that by the same method.
You may find panel adhesive as well, then you're into a major drywall project, so I suggest try removing it in a hidden local if you can like a closet perhaps first.
