Thank you Sylvan for great information on PVC. I really wish that when people do home project that they had to have it inspected...but i know that would be hard to control. I understand the saving money but why not get it right the first time and use the best to build what ever you may be building. I wish when looking at the house it made the noise cause i would not of bought it...but we did run everything but because they were always doing laundry (8 kids) didn't think to say cut the laundry off to hear the pipes fill up. But i know now to do that. Thank you....i guess i will need to have another plumber come in and figure out what can and needs to be done. I have a friend who gave me the name of a plumber here family has used forever and that guy is from a plumber family and are good people. Thanks again for such great help. Also i will soon be buying land and will build a home some day on it and want to design it are there any programs that can help me get started and will later help my builder when i hire one to understand my vision of what i want?

The noise condition* ( not problem) may be very costly to stop.

Possible solutions would be to open the walls ceiling and properly support the piping OR insulate around them to dampen the noise.

The reason I call it a "condition" is a problem one can fix a condition one leans to live with.

The sad part is folks think plastic is cheaper but they only consider the labor factor and not the quality of life issues.

When materials or fixtures are legalized by politicians the public normally suffers.

Look at the 1 .6 GPF fiasco for toilets.

It is great to say lets conserve water but at what cost?

Many of the new homes I go into to make repairs seem to have a plunger sitting by the new fancy toilets that require two or more flushes so there goes the water savings plus Americans are not used to third world plumbing where one see's 'track marks" inside the WC.

As children we grew up not hearing plumbing except for Archie Bunker who was the first to flush a toilet on TV.

We can travel to outer space but cannot stop the pay offs and graft being paid to code officials

I am from the old school is something is not broken why fix it?

Give the people a choice and say listen you can save no more then $1,500 on a new home using plastic but for the entire time your living there your going to have to make allowances for the noise level and let the next generation worries about how to dispose of the non recyclable plastic (like tires)

It is a shame seeing houses in my are going for well over 2 million dollars then with in two years major repairs have to be made as the under slab heating fails or the plastic sags and causes stoppages.

So much for progress huh?

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions prior to the plumber going in and trying to alleviate the noise condition.

Good luck
