We are remodelling our home and our contractor installed a new tankless water heater with a water softener and a whole house filter the pressure was ok at first but in the last couple of days it went down. We are on a well and checked the outside water faucets and they have good pressure. What could be causing this?

Thank you

I never could under stand the reasoning of a whole house filtering system?

To think of spending money to filter water going to water the garden or being flushed down a toilet amazes me.

I happen to like point of use filters or some type of filtering system that allows filtered water to be used strictly for potable use and not for washing machines or other non consumable applications.

Once the filters get any sediment in the pre filters or the finer micron filter gets blocked one can kiss the water supply pressure good bye.

Do you have a back flush system? Do you have a by pass?

There are many reasons why one would get a severe pressure drop from friction losses etc.

Call the plumber back and ask about keeping a large supply of replacement filters on hand and ask how you can replace them if needed
