I have a very old house. We have two bathrooms. We are trying to figure out how to stop when one person is taking a shower and someone else turns water on or flushes a toilet they get scalded. Can anyone help me?

We are trying to fix the problem of getting scalded in the shower when someone else flushes or turn on water from another faucet in the house. Our house was built in 1917 and we have 2 bathrooms. Thank you in advance for your help.
