So... my lovely Kohler toilet has finally been fixed, but after it was snaked by a local plumber, it has a black (grease?) stain at the bottom of the bowl, where the water sits. The plumber suggested using bleach by pouring it into the bowl and letting it sit for a while before scrubbing and flushing, but that did absolutely NO good. Any ideas?

I would never sell my accounts a Kohler plumbing product as I read "the bold look" but never saw anything in print about Quality.
This is my opinion.

Try soft scrub it may remove the stains

Soft Scrub didn't work; just tried it. The reason is that the stain is BELOW the water line, so any product's power is necessarily diluted. Perhaps I should try leaving Soft Scrub in the toilet overnight?
First you need to get the water out.
Use a spong or a a wet/dry shop vac.
Then try the SoftScrub.
If that does not work then try Barkeepers Friend.
