My tub spout has a diverter. When water is turned on if flows freely from the spout. When the diverter is engaged, water will stop flowing from the tub spout and barely come out of the shower head. I took of the shower head and the water would not come out of the pipe. I took of the tub spout and water will flow freely from the pipe. I replaced the tub spout/diverter. Still the same thing. I have two baths with the same tub shower set setup in each, now the other shower is doing the same thing. When this all started the water would divert and flow strongly then, like air in the lines (heavy water hammer sound, bam, bam, bam)the water would stop (and the sound would too) now no noise but, no water either.

Any ideas?
