I have a 1/2 bathroom with a toilet that will flush but not take the waste water down with any force. It eventually drains drains down to the normal level but it can not handle any solid waste. I have used some roto-rooter in it, an auger, and a plunger to no avail. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you

Put about 30 sheets of toilet paper in it and pour a 5 gallon bucket of water down the bowl if it doesnt flush peoperly then you have a partical stoppage IF it does flush properly then you need to adust the water level and flapper to stay up longer if that is the type of tank you have,if it it is a flushometer then use the adjusting screw for a longer flush

Great info you received from Mr Tieger. I would add that you also ensure the vent piping is absolutely clear from above the roof down into the building waste piping. Especially with the newer low flow loos, proper siphonic action is required for a smooth flush.

It is possible to have an object, like a plastic cap off a bottle, that won't flush down the opening in the toilet. It will allow a snake to pass. If you can't get it to flush, pull the toilet, check for restrictions in the 3 or 4 inch line. Take the toilet out into the yard and put a garden hose up the drain and backflush it. When all else fails, buy a new toilet and break the old toilet and find out what's in it. Good luck.

Hi Big Rob , better be careful on the advice you give

"buy a new toilet and break the old toilet and find out what's in it. Good luck. "

Breaking china is like flying Shrapnel I remember as an apprentice I met a one eyed mechanic who lost his eye from a toilet being broken during demolition.

I would have suggested a closet auger if the bucket did not work as even Q tips can cause a sluggish flow.

Today with with lawyers lurking around like a snake under a rock one has to becareful on the advice given out.

To many nut cases in the legal profession out there looking for a fast buck CYA
