i have a hot and cold faucet in the bathtub with a center handle to turn on the shower. over time a drip has turned to constant running of cold water out of the faucet when taking a shower. it ssems to be just cold water. was wondering how to fix it?

It could just be the knob is stripped there should be a cover that is round you should be able to remove it and there should be a screw the star kind I think it is called a phillips head turn left to unscrew it and see if it is worn out, if it is your local hardware store should carrier a universal one to replace it with. If that is not the problem it is proably the steam itself and I would suggest calling a plumber ( I tried to replace mine and needless to say I caused a bigger problem by twisting the copper pipe inside,
