I have a small but persistent leak in a bathroom faucet. After removing faucet covers, exposing stems, but not loosening anything: turn on cold water, see water leaking on hot water side, and vice versa. I replaced the hot water washer but the problem remains. I have not replaced the cold water washer because I'm afraid of breaking something because, after a few turns, in the process of loosening it, the bolt becomes very tight again and I don't want to force it for fear of causing a larger problem than the simple, leak which, if necessary, I can live with, although it is annoying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (And if I can help anyone with regard to questions about branded food buying in supermarkets, Ask Away!!)

Actually you cannot live with a drip
1- If your water is metered your going to pay a small fortune over time for wasted water
2- If this is hot water dripping your paying for the water and the fuel to heat it
3- If a slight drip is allowed to continue think of the grand Canyon that started as a trickle
Water allowed to "drip" will score the faucet seats and in time destroy the faucet totally beyond repair
Drips do not normally fix themselves
Have a great week end
FYI one of my accounts had an $1,800 + water bill from a toilet that had a bad flapper

Syhlvan: Thanks for your reply. After reading it, the one thing I could think of was, "ULP!!!"
