What is the cause of low water pressure? I have city water and when another faucet is turned on the pressure drops. I lived in an apartment before and could have washing machine, shower and sink faucets running and no loss of pressure. How can this be remedied? or am I stuck with it?

Loss of water pressure as more water is used is caused a restriction in the supply lines.

Most often it is caused by mineral buildup in old galvanized iron pipe. It might be in the house or the supply lines from the main.

Just like Bill stated or it could be a partially closed valve or undersized piping.

Sometimes folks only open a valve part way and the pressure will drop as water is being used as the smaller opening wont allow enough volume to flow
