I was just looking at a posting asking for help on questions about an upflush basement toilet & before i could hit the reply button my computer went kapooo-e. now i can't find that post again to respond...so i will just add my 2 cents this way!

I read the article under the bob vila library on basement upflush toilets when we were looking for one.

http://www.bobvila.com/HowTo_Library/Plumbing_Waste_Removal_and_Basement_Bathrooms-Pipes_Drains_and_Fittings-A2546.html

and it mentioned this website (i bookmarked it) http://www.upflushtoilet.com

My reason to posting was cause it is just unbelievable that the owner answers the phone & he is a plumber...so we were able to get all the help we needed & all our questions answered in one phone call (and since he was a plumber it helped that he understood we were total idiots when it came to understanding how to do plumbing!!).. so to the person looking for help..hope this helps you too...thanks to the BV library we found it.

I never did care for a flush up toilet as I opted for a duplex sewerage ejector system so if the home owner ever wanted to install a bath tub/ shower or other fixtures including floor drains they have the option.

Considering labor is much more expensive then materials in most cases I try to allow for futures that the home owner can install themselves and not locked into one manufacturer.

The upflush we got works fantastic...we have not one complaint. even company is shocked that it is just like an ordinary toilet (just about). we have a tub/shr, sink & toilet so not sure what else any homeowner might want in the future? as far as labor goes, the plumber guy helped tell us how to do it step by step & we did it all ourselves. and i mean it when i say we're idiots so if we can do it i think anyone else can too if you are slightly handy. he said he has helped women install these so that was throwing down the gauntlet!! it wasn't that hard at all. so in the end we saved a ton of cash with the deal, no labor & and we can't be happier with it !! so if you're thinking of one i wouldn't be afraid of it (well maybe depending on what brand you get?)
