I had some leaks and needed to replace a sprinkler pipe. To my surprise the pipes were not PVC,they are a black flexible pipe. This pipe is slightly larger than a 3/4 PVC pipe and sections are joined together with a metal fitting and a hose clamp. Anybody out there ever worked with this stuff? My problem is that I need a way to connect PVC to this black flexible pipe.

That is polyethalane pipe (PE).

There are also plastic barbed fittins available for it.

You can get them with thread with IPS threads ("iron" pipe thread) which is the common taper thread used on metal pipes.

I have only seen them in male threads and would have to screw into a femaile PVC thread adapter.

DON"T USE THE METAL PE CONNECTORS IF IS MALE. You can overtighten them and crack the femail PVC fitting.
